The Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show is South Africa’s premier wine competition, identifying the very best Cape wines, recognising the achievements of the country’s winemakers, and honouring excellence in the wine industry.
Old Mutual, headline sponsor of the competition since its inception in 2002, sees great value in a process which identifies the country’s top wines and makes this information available to the South African wine drinking public.
Old Mutual hosted us last week at the exclusive wine masterclass chaired by chairman of the judges Michael Fridjhon at Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel.
The masterclass showcased 17 2018 Silvers and Gold Trophy winners wines. The experience was quite exhilarating as we learnt how these wines are prepared, stored and the different ingredients used for a variety of wine types.
I can say I enjoyed the wine masterclass more compared to just attending the wine shows as the Masterclass is more informative.
